Alderney Railway

The Alderney Railway, established in 1847, is the only working railway in the Channel Islands. Originally constructed to transport stone for the island's breakwater and fortifications, it now offers scenic rides along a two-mile coastal route from Braye Road to Mannez Quarry and Lighthouse. Passengers travel in two former London Underground carriages, pulled by a diesel engine, providing a unique blend of history and picturesque views.
